Problems Shifting into 3rd Gear for 2007 Civic Si

I just recently got a used 2007 Civic Si with 9K on it. The problem is when I initially start to drive the car, it seems to not want to go into third gear. If not that then it pops out of third gear. I really have to Push it into third gear for it to stay in there. I haven't raced or abused the car at all. This only happens as I initially start up and drive the car. Later on it doesn't happen. My sister has the same year and model of my car and states that she has the same problem as well. HELP!!!

A lot of people on here have the same problem. If you do a search, you'll find thousands of posts about it.

Honda is rumored to be putting out a "fix" for this soon, but given it's taken them six years or so to even acknowledge it, I'll believe it when I see it.

Mine still does it when it's warmed up, jdmkid88, albeit it's more random and infrequent once it's warmed up. Absolutely it pops out and grinds easier when it's cold and not fully warmed up, but it doesn't completely go away when the car is warm, either.

Bro, sorry to hear that about your car. Hopefully, Honda will step up and officially address this problem with a new gearset rather than just changing the MTF and hoping the problem will go away. Nevertheless, great to see you on the site. Post pics of your car when you get a chance!

Ya change the tranny fluid to help the problem but know this is not a fix just to help it
