Turn Ignition Off=Honk. WHY?

We have an 06 Hybrid. Its been doing this from day 1, but has started to bother me more lately esp. coming home late (not wanting to disturb the old couple next door).

When turning the ignition to the off position (or 0), the horn honks 1 quick time. I dont know if all newer civics do this or just the hybrid or what.

Is there a disable?? Ive searched here and in the manual, let me know if Ive missed something.

Mine definitely doesn't do that, I don't think any of them 'should'. Other than that I can't offer anymore insight, sorry

Anyone get a manual for the factory security system? We didnt get one for the civic, but our other cars have come with one.

If you have a manual, maybe its in there?

if you have the KARR system turn your ignition to (1) and on the back of the little light on the bottom of the dash there is a button click three times and the car will honk then turn the ignition off. start the car and see if it fixed your problem.

yah mine too, but only if i push the fob a second time. the audibly confirms that you've armed the alarm.

Sorry don't mean to threadjack hybkon, but I have the same problem with a different twist and didn't want to make a new thread. If you sit in the car and lock the car manually and then unlock it manually the alarm goes off. Anyone else have this problem? It seems kind of stupid because the alarm seems to arm itself when you lock it manually but wont disarm if you unlock it manually which causes it to go off. Hopefully some of you have a fix cuz its getting insane hearing my alarm go off all the time.
