Unhappy Short Shifter Problem

I recently purchased a Short Shifter but I won't say from whom because I'm trying to get ahold of them to see what the problem is. I tried putting it on today and everyone is like it's an easy 20 minute install. I agree, an easy 20 minute install.

The problem was with my short shifter on all the way and tightened. The gears wouldn't go into 2nd 4th 6th and reverse. I'm just wondering if anyone else had this problem and is there a way to solve this or should I just return the short shifter? Oh and after I figured this out by trying to take it for a test drive. I had to remove everything and ended up dropping that clamp and other things. Yay so right now I can't drive my car and it's dark out now so I'm going to try and grab them tomorrow.

Any helpful info would be appreciated.

i've had that problem before, but only for a couple minutes. It may be too tight or loose. Make sure it's on all the way and just play with it. Hope this helps

you have to stick it in all the way or else it will hit the plastic piece and will not let it go in gear.

Oh shit I had it on tight maybe it was too tight, I'm really tempted to go and try and fix this in the dark.

When I had my Si, I ended up having my short shifter hit the bottom of the black plastic tunnel. The only way I made it work was getting a file and removing some of the plastic until it cleared the bottom of the shifter part.

Maybe you dont have it up on the stock shifter all the way... Loosen the screws all the way, and see if you can get it on there higher...

I'm going outside to try again but I hit it with a rubber hammer a few times to make sure it was up all the way in case it was supposed to pop in but still wouldn't fit.

I will take some pictures too if I can't get it to work.
