Wondering if their is something wrong with my breaks..

Just got my car few days ago, driven it for bout 500kms now, having this weird issue with my breaks happen only 2 or 3 times wondering if its normal.. Basicly when i slow down put the gear on neutral on a manual trans... and step on the breaks a lil and i feel and hear a grinding and popping sound on the break pedal, dunno what it is.... GRRR anyone have an Idea??? would be great thx!!

ABS? If your not used to it, it feels like something is wrong.

yup its my first time with ABS, used to have toyota celica with no gps, just when im about to slow down or stop it makes this sort of grinding sound like when you grind your shift but its on the break pedal and the pedal also vibrates.. is this is normal, just happen 2 or 3 time out of 500kms

Seems to me that the ABS on the newer SI kicks in a lot more than other cars. I never felt the ABS grind until i got my SI. Maybe it has better brakes than my 98 Jeep GC.

Sounds like normal behavior for our ABS. It will kick in even under light braking if the road is at all uneven. The pedal will firm up and you will feel a tapping through it along with grinding sound. It's probably a function of the adaptive brake boosting, ABS, and electronic brake distribution.

Ya personally I hate ABS. I would take the fuse out for it but then you always have the ABS light on your dash. I jsut dom't like the feeling of not being able to lock up your brakes.

i heard thaton my car the left front so i decided to take the wheel off to check and i found out that one of the calipers bolts was missing. i went to the dealer and got one, strange thing was the counter guy told me this is common.

wow that's krz i would personally go over there and tell them to give me a new car if i bought it brand new, i think they might have bs'd a lil bit there..

sometimes dealers do mess up, my friend bought a 350z once brand new.. he drove it out of the dealership and few kms later he heard a grinding sound in the engine.. apparently nissan forgot to put oil in his engine?!?!, haha soo dum, at first they offered his to just put oil and inspect it to make sure its okay... but eventually my friend complain that they may be future problems b/c of this,, so they actually gave him a new 350Z

VSA= ABS + Traction control = no no.

ABS..man i hate that feeling..it feels like sand or rocks are stuck in the brakes or something but thats how ABS works in the Civics i guess.

Take your time slowing down and it won't kick in as often, are you guys driving on gravel roads?

the si's i know have that other system too, i dont know if it is associated with traction control or vsa, although both of those are pretty much the same. but the system i am talking about is say the roads are slick for whatever reason (snow, rain, ice, etc.) and your rear end starts to spin out on you the brakes on the rear will come on sortof like like abs and help straighten the car back out. that maybe the problem with whoever was autox'ing. now that i think about it, i think it is the vsa, but thought i would info you all.
