Class Action Lawsuit against Honda America

A lot of us are having problems with our transmissions on our civics. Since Honda America has not recalled this car I think the only way to get some sort of good outcome would be to contact a lawyer and file a class action lawsuit. I am sure an attorney would jump on this in an instant. I have contacted my service manager, the General Manager, Honda America, the New Motor Vehicle Board and now the BBB. It seems that you can not say your car is a lemon because Honda techs will say that nothing was found with the car. It is basically their word against yours. So this is my last option. If anyone is interested , please post and leave your email or info.Thanx

I def experience it. I never did the old switch to synth trans fluid because I always felt it should be thier place to do it for free.

While it may be their place to do something like that are you really gonna let your stubbornness get in the way of potentially alleviating you issue?

I already talked to a legal advisor. In California, the law states the manufacturer has to pay for the legal fees if we win. Most likely Honda will settle or recall because they dont like the bad publicity. I am at least going to try something. Something is better than nothing.

this is not the first thread about starting a lawsuit. there are others, and they never go anywhere.

With my bad luck with cars I will be joining this crew shortly, I only have 700 miles and I don't have the third gear issue yet, however every now and then when I go to shift into 4th, 3rd gear seems like it was just about to fall out of gear on its own.

I would join you, but ever since switching my tranny fluid to amsoil synchromesh I have had no problems. Hope you get your trannies working again (BTW $20 fluid change is cheaper and quicker than lawyer).

there has been people on this forum stating that the amsoil oil did work but then the problems came back....everyone is entitled to their opionion, but I am getting an attorney for my situation, but I also want to include others that have dealt with the bs from Honda.and like I said before, I dont have to pay because the lawyers only take a case they know they can win, and this one is

btw, I have a voicemail from the service guy telling me that "it is not recommended by Honda" , I think that is BS considering there was a newletter saying it was a temp fix. He told me it would void my warranty

bring that point up to the lawyer as well because they are basically breaking two laws there: tying and magnuson-moss warranty act

Tying (commerce) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

more to add to your case

I'd be interested in it, but I'm not gonna fork over $$ because I don't think anything will ever get done.

umm, not to be negative, i do admire your ambition but, even if a so called class action suit were to take place the only thing we as owners would get is a refund check for 30bucks and a MTF change. it would be a big waste of time. However I do like how someone started a petition about this very problem. My name is on the list. I have 34k on my car and had the issues with 2nd-5th gear since 1k.
