Difference between factory warranty vs extended...

So the factory warranty is bumper 2 bumper right? is the extended warranty through honda (honda care) as good?

Also if you purchase an extended warranty ie. 5 yr / Xk , when does it start? at the date you bought the warranty or the date you purchased the car (similarly with the # of miles). Wondering since I probably wont purchase extended warranty until 4-6k miles 1 year in.

Under 6k miles, it starts at the original service date 0 mileage.

for extended warranty do we need to show that it is has properly been maintained? i'm thinking about how this can be done if I am doing my own oil/ filter changes..

If you were to have a covered part fail and they blamed it on a lack of maintenance, you would need to have receipts showing you bought the products to change your oil.
