Stock Alarm Sensitivity???
My Alarm has been trippin lately. It seems every time i park on the street and a bus or big truck goes by my alarm is set off. Is there a way to turn down the sensitivity? It diddnt use to do this. Ive had the car for about 5 months and its an 06 Si. I bought it used.
Anybody else have this problem?? |

If its aftermarket you can turn it down. I know one of the guys stock alarm would go off at the same time each morning for some reason.

Opening the thread, I thought the question was going to be just the opposite. Without doing any damage to my car, I can't trip the alarm.
I have knocked somewhat hard on the windows and shaken the car, by pushing back and forth on the bumper, and I can't trigger the alarm. Mike |

I posted this on honda tech as well and got a great answer. There is a little blue box under the dash next to the stearing column where you can adjust the sensitivity from min to max. I adjusted it the other day and hopefully it worked. Its my turn to park on the street tonight so i guess ill find out later.

the stock larm doesnt go off with vibrations or when i window brakes. it will only go off if someone opens the door without turning off the alarm.

i agree with the vibrations but not with the window breaking. i forgot where, but when i first bought my 07 si i was waiting on my salesman and i was reading one of the books that comes with the si and read that the windows have sensors around the edges or something like that and when broken the alarm will sound. but like i said, i forget exactly where i found this info...

I dont have an extra remote this alarm works with the factory key fob. when the alarm goes off it is just the horn and lights flashing, im preety sure its an aftermarket shock sensor. ill post a pic for refrence |

This is the little blue box under the dash next to the steering column.
![]() And this is the "Sensor" they activated to ensure me that if anybody broke the window the car wouldnt be able to start. Im not really sure what it does but i think the 2 are related. The wires under the dash look like they might connect closer to the firewall.

ohh thats aftermarket alarms parts dealers use. it is a shock sensor and it isnt. the second thing is for overiding the alarm if you cant turn it off and also to set the alarm in valet mode.
