No they don't. It's there for a reason as a safety feature. Do you honestly think that Honda would set it there if it were that dangerous? No, they'd set it lower.

So can you share the trick? I am really into it.

Does it matter if your car got a cold start or completely warm up affect the rev limiter?

Maybe he did that weird trick that causes all the dashboard lights to turn and also makes the tach move to 9,000.

There's a thread on the not so amusing trick.

What do you mean? Isn't the rev limiter the fuel cutoff? Or am I wrong here?

you're right. it won't damage anything by you hitting it, just stops combustion so things don't break.

to do the test you need to turn the light on and off a few times, doing this with hid ballasts severly reduces there life expectancy. the gasses in the hid bulbs need to heat up to run right and turning them on and off quickle makes the inner bulb crack.

Of course there's a trick to it. Downshift from 4th gear redline to 1st gear

this is so Cool how do i do this

This is the link to a thread that mentions the diagnostic test. These are the instructions on how to perform the test. It may take a few tries to get it right, but it does work.

i have a question about the revlimiter. I know its useless on a Baddown shift, like 5th to 2nd or 6th to 2nd, because the wheels will force the engine past 9.5k which can cause serious engine damage. But what about when powershifting like 0-60. If you wait too long to shift can you cause damage? (aside from the obvious trans/clutch wear over time)
