Sea foam can also be added to your oil.. techron concentrate is fuel only...the stuff isnt that expensive considering what it does...around 13 bucks .
They recommend using techron concentrate every 3,000 miles. Carbon build up is nasty @.@... BTW these are oil base products... Techron in the gas station is simular but not as concentrated as the "real stuff" Thats why I tell people if you want to take care of your car fill it with "good" gas. Its worth the extra money to keep your car running better and longer! |

Only time higher octane = more hp is when you have a fuel map to run that higher octane in your ECU. |

they put a small amount in thier gasoline and it will not get rid of carbon buildup that already exsists from previous damage. You should always be running these brands inorder to prevent build up in the first place

I would strongly advise against using anything below 91 octane. |

Your engine does have a knock sensor that will adjust timing if you put in a lower octane gas. You engine will probably lose some power due to the timing, but I highly doubt you'll damage your engine by filling it up with 87 a few times. Just listen for engine knock, if you don't hear it, your engine will be fine.
