Second Gear Problem

Hey first off i have an 07 Civic Si. I have been having a problem when shifting from first to second gear at high rpms. The gears will grind horribly sometimes. Im not sure why. Its only when going into second gear. It seems like it started once i put my Comptech Short Shifter on, but im not blaming it on that. Just wondering if anyone else has problems? Should i take the car in for a check up. I have an extended warranty so im fine there. And yes my foot will be all the way down on the clutch and still grind.

alotta people have reported to have this issue (i.e. shifting from 1st to 2nd while redlining/vtec-ing).

Search man. Basically, you are shifting too fast. You have to slow it down just a split second. This happened to me when I was still getting used to it.

mine doesnt grind, its just notchy but only when its cold, when its warmed up it goes away.

You have to take it a tad bit slower.

THe problem starts after you install the short shifter yet you're not putting the blame on the shifter.....um ok...

Remove the short shifter, put it back to stock....the short shifter increases the speed of your shifts. The transmission synchros cannot keep up with the quick shifting.

Yup happens to me to!! I hate that, and honestly slow shifting? Before i would grind the gear which sounded horrible, but now it seems more like i miss the gear. I knew it wasn't just me, so when i heard other peeps were having the same problem i felt a bit more confident.
