drive by wire delay explained
After each shift, or any sudden release of the throttle, the engine "burps,"
emitting high concentrations of exhaust emissions. The ECU has a delay, or a map that allows the revs to drop slowly, in a controlled manner, to reduce the amount of emissions emitted while revving-down. |

too bad hondata doesn't wanna mess with the DBW settings on the ecu ![]() btw.. what u r talking about is throttle hang... DBW lag is something else.. go race beside a RSX type R and u'll feel it.. its at the very second you step on the gas.. your car doesn't move till like 1/4 - 1/2 a second later.. this also occurs when you switch gears.. |

Yeah, not every car with DBW does this. None of the American cars I've driven with DBW have a throttle hang. The Subaru I used to own did it pretty much the same as the Honda so maybe it's a Japanese thing.
I read somewhere else Honda is going to provide a reflash for the engine computer for those folks who want it. |
