Changing 9005 DRL/High Bulbs, need help!

I'm trying to change my 9005 DRL bulbs with yellow Nokya but I cannot pull the bulb out of the socket.

On the instruction manual it says to turn it one-quarter counter-clockwise but I've been trying for 15 minutes with no results. It seems like you cannot even turn it.

I have 08 Civic Sedan LX, if that helps. Thanks for the reply guys.

unplug the connector and i think to loosen you twist counterclockwise facing the front of the car, once you feel it unlock then wiggle it out of place

Ya the stock high beam bulbs are a little stuborn the first time you take them out. Put a little pressure on the bulb and push in and turn it. Then it should pull right out. The drivers side you gotta take that plastic resevoir out. Good luck!

Yeah, it felt like if I were to turn the bulb counter-clockwise it would break it out of its socket.

What car do you have? I don't know if that matters.

Took me a while to put back that thing too, I don't know if I should try to remove the bulb again with the same results.

Keep trying dude. It will work. You must have some stubborn bulbs.

I had a couple of seconds trying to get mine off too. Just jiggle it up and down when you turn it as far as you could to the left. Should pop off.

Sorry for bumping this thread, but if I were to get a set of 9005 Nokya, PIAA or Luminics , would it come with the socket so I can just plug it into my connector?

This is what I'm talking about:

If I were to get this, would it come ready like the picture on the right so I can just disconnect my old DRL from the connector and simply plug in the new stuff?

Help is much appreciated! Thanks guys!

Ya as long as they are 9005's they will fit in the high beams, which are your DRL's. Just take the old ones out and put these ones in and your good to go.

9005 = Low Beams
9006 = High Beams/DRL

Thanks msjwild3. I'm gonna get a set of Nokya 9005 yellow tomorrow and try it out, I will post pics of the result.

Edit: Tried repping you, but it says "You must spread some reputation around before giving it to msjwild3 again."
