Won't Start On First Try

Does anyone else have an issue where you turn the key to start and it doesn't. I'm not talking about where it turns over and never fully starts. It seems that sometimes (randomly) when I put in the key and turn the ignition it is dead silent and the car does not even attempt to start. Couple more clicks and finally it turns on without hesitation.

Just started happening 3 days ago. Im bringing it in to Honda tomorrow however I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem in the past? And the fix for it?

Your foot has to be on the clutch all the way down. Starting the car is different than shifting gears. Shifting gears, you find where the clutch grabs. Starting the car is different....if that's not the case, then no never had that problem.

Trust me clutch is all the way down. I even released it and pressed it again to make sure I wasn't crazy and still wouldn't start. Sometimes it takes one try, sometimes two, sometimes three, sometimes it doesn't hassle me.

This sucks!

sounds like a ignition problem... post a pic of your keychain, if it weighs 20lb then thats your problem. your anti theft isnt recagnizing your key and wont start... then when you jiggle or take out/reinstall the key it recognizes it cuz it sits proerly in the barral

fairly common... you might need a new ignition assy.

not necessarily. as long as the "switch" the clutch pedal activates to start the car is "on", then it'll start up, even if the clutch may not be all the way down.

Good to know. Care to know how many friends and family I've had killed by drunk drivers?

Any news?

It could simply be a bad battery or a loose battery connection. Hopefully it is something simple.

Check if the terminal connections to the battery are not loose. This exact same thing happened to me a few weeks back, my positive terminal connection was so loose you can take it off without unscrewing anything.

I've been having similar issues with the clutch all the way depressed. 2007 Si Sedan. Never takes more than 2 tries though. I'll probably take it into the dealer sometime soon to get it checked out among other things.

Ya driving around drunk isn't cool bro. You're lucky you didn't kill someone. More accidents happen within a mile from your house than anywhere else. Don't be an Idiot and walk next time if you were only down the street.

But anyway, I had a loose positive terminal also. It would lift off randomly and then fall back on so when I would try to start it it wouldn't start but when I got out to look under the hood the terminal would fall back on the battery post when I would close the door. Finally I got lucky and for some reason I didn't shut my door one time when I checked it out and it was completely off the batt.
