Go to your honda dealer and get them to fix it bro. That happened to my friend one time, it sucks. Like seriously, what happens if you have for girlfriend in the passenger seat, and your about to do you know what, and then al of the sudden when she takes her top off the airbag goes off....... Ruins the whole thing

Dude that sucks is your car an LX or an SI? Because the SI has enough problems that Honda has to fix. But by far I think this will be the last Honda I will buy. They went from top notch to just enough. That's not right. My friend has an ep3 that is lowered 2.5'' and he bottomed out on railroad tracks and his car cut-off but no air bag deployment. So Honda is either going to have to step up or step out. IMO All car manufactors should repair or replace any airbag that has deployed when there is no accident. That should be by law... but that's my .02

DAMN again! Now i'm gettin nervous. Anyway you shouldn't have to pay for sh!t you know. Neither should your insurance . File a claim with honda. Take pictures of your hand just incase. Tell them your hand got hurt from the deployment and you are going to consult not only a doctor but a lawyer, and see how fast they fix your airbags no charge.

This situation sounds more like an insurance claim then a Honda claim. You have admitted to bottoming out. More than likely Honda found the scraped damage underneath your car- which caused the deployment of your airbag. Keep in mind that part of your airbags' sensor monitors the rate of deceleration- not only impact.

I have seen several cars at the bodyshop I used to work with deployed airbags with not major cosmetic damage. One car was a late Accord. The lady admitted to "going over a speed bump at 60MPH". The other car was a late VW Jetta which blew not only the Front air bags, but the right side-curtain airbags after he accidently hopped a curb in a parking lot. The VW had 7k in airbag/dash/headliner/seat damage and 0 damage to the exterior of the car....

Sounds like you found out the hard way...

Good luck

You hit a pothole? I think you can sue the city? I remember some lady SPRAINED her ankle by stepping on a loose brick on the sidewalk and sued the city and won. This was in boston.

OK update!!

I just got my car back after a week of being in the shop and dealing with insurance. Insurance covered everything because it wasn't my fault.. They didn't go after the city or anything for the bump in the road. The total cost was 3500 in parts and labor which included everything that is necessary after an airbag goes off..

There was a creaking noise every time I shifted gears, which got fixed as well. I'm happy to have my car back!!

I was driving.. Hit a bump because the road didn't have street lights and the bump wasn't coned off as it was before.. 10 minutes later, while pulling into 7/11 to get beer or blunts (I forget) my airbag goes off in my face for no apparent reason.

I went to the dealership, they said it was my fault. Went to a different one, they said they'd fix it. Insurance covered everything. It took a week and a half for everything to get fixed.

The end.

You got reamed my friend. HONDA should have paid for this, not your insurance. Now you have a claim on you record and your premiums might go up. This wasnt a free meal, trust me.
