Gears dont go in!

when im racing or just speeding for the heck of it my 2nd gear will grind and sometimes my 3rd too... i dont know if its me that im not putting in the clutch right or if there is something wrong with my tranny. or stick.

u need to press the clutch in fully. not just half way. do it fuly to ensure u dont do what u do by assuming little past half way will work. until you know how to run ur car and get to knwo it better, it willwork.

Recalls, TSB's, and Common problems with the 8thgen civic...

its a known problem, i get it too even during normal driving. the second gear is an issue on every honda manual trans i have ever driven.

i have that same problem with my 3rd gear. im just used to my old cars clutch where u can just barely push down on it and u can switch gears fine, or atleast u didnt have to push the clutch all the way down all the time

True that! :)

Every Honda transmission has had a 2nd gear grind for years and years.

Best recommendation is Redline MTF or Amsoil.

I ran Syncromesh from GM in my accord and it cleared a lot of things up, including when it was cold i would have to skip second gear all together.

Yeah I get it too, in 3rd gear. They have one recall for it. I have to take my car in for service, they have told me that my synchro will need to be replaced if not my whole transmission.

i also get it. although yesterday, driving around i noticed it was really unnoticible.

When i go in to get my first oil change, i will ask about it.

enter801, is there actually a fix for it now? last i had seen it was just aknowledged as a problem.
