navi went out on me....

So all day today my navi was working perfectly fine... I come home from school, get ready to go to the gym, and leave.... I notice my navi screen is not coming on.... symptomes are black screen and all buttons not functioning... the CD in my player was playing and the audio controls on the steering wheel worked as well as voice command, but no navi unit functionality.... i try restarting the car about 6 times.... still does not work.... so i call Honda and they tell me to bring it in to have someone look at it.... i drive to Honda without navi working... when i get there i try 3 more times of restarting the electrical to get it to work.... no luck.... i met up with the service manager and he sits in the car, turns the key, and the navi comes on and works perfectly.... we tried to replicate the problem by restarting it a few times without any flaw.... i think i may have the most awkward luck in the world... the chances of that happening are slim to none... i am just worried that it may go out again some other time... but i guess thats what warranty is for.... has anyone else had their navi go out on them?

I've never had any problems with mine. It's weird that it finally worked at Honda. Nonetheless...it works now. Hopefully it was a one time (well, you know what I mean) fluke.

I have had the same thing happen to me i took it in for service to get my tire put on (long story) it came out and the guy told me the reason I couldn't see the navi screen is because i had it on like if i was using it at night? does that make sense? so what he did was undid the battery terminals and left it off for 2 minutes and it came back on normal.

The same thing just happened to mine today, nav screen blank and all buttons on nav display inop but of course all modes are working via steering wheel controls and voice commands.
I had a rover where the nav computer locked up and there was a sequence of a few buttons to push to do a computer reset .
Perhaps I'll try a battery disconnect and try and reset it that way. If it doesn't work I'll try taking it in.

My rover that had nav, had a software update within the first year and it took care of it.

Hi All,

My Navi screen went black for a couple of days (touch screen won't light up, music only controllable via the steering wheel buttons). One day it just started working again. Fluke indeed !!!

Saw somewhere that disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for a minute seems to remedy the problem. Luckily, I didn't have to do that.

Also I saw that someone had their headlight fuse go out. Replacing the fuse worked for that individual. All of my exterior lights were ok on mine, though.

Hope this helps

I opted not to get Navigation specifically for this reason. The location for the screen is poorly placed, and in harms way of UV rays ths impairing cooling abilities.

bring that shit back to Honda and have them fix it...

This is the first time I have heard of this happening. I have a Navi in my Si and had one in my EX. No problems so far (Knock on wood), lol

I have a navi but never experienced that problem before. Its been one year and I still don't have any problems with my navi. I hope they don't come either.
