a clicking noise/rubbing noise in the rear suspension of SI
ok, when i'm in neutral adn windows are closed, ti's very quite in my cabin, however, i can hear a little rubbing noise or like the springs in the rear suspension are moving very little that they make a litle noise. I tried to figure what it was so i went outside and i move the car up and down a little with my weight and hear a clicking noise in the right and left side suspension. my ears are right by the wheel, i dont know where it's comming form.. does anyone expereicne this? did anyoen ever notice this? the car is a week old , 400 miles on it. yea, i'm driving a lot, i love it.
I'm gettign concerned. about it. can anyone check their si's? i would assume it might be the super stiff suspenion set up thats doing this. thanks guys. |

I had this problem and they warranty my rear right strut for me... some how it was broken... the clicking noise occurs after you drive it a bit.. then when you are at VERY VERY low speeds say 3km/h or 5km/h or less.. then you'll hear the clicking.. at first it only clicks once every long while.. but after awhile it'll click even at 8km/h.. get it replaced! I thought my car was the only one with that problem at first.. but now I see this thread.. I guess not!
and don't worry too much about ur car.. my SI is running great.. cept that it always pulls right btw.. I my car had about 8000 km or 10000 km on it before I realized the problem so I think you guys are safe |

it's not a clicking noise. ti's like a rubbign noise. when you're goign very slow, u can just fainly hear it. i step outside, and i move the car up adn down w/ my weight and i can hear it comming from both rear sides of the car. I hate takign cars in to dealerships, they dont know what the hell they're doing, they do more damage than repair.

well no one else is replying, so it's pissing me off. i mean what he hell. i dont think tis' a problem. or just no one notices it. it's just a small clickign noise and i'm assumign it's just play in teh suspenion links. if i just move the body w/ my hand just enough, i can make ti click and click off. but when u'r ein teh car, u can hear it more.
this only occurs when u're traveling very slow. i mean crawl slow to like take off or something. because anythign else gets to loud to hear it i think. |

I just recently noticed it too!! I have a EX Coupe with just over 1,000 miles on my car. I first noticed a very low "clicking" at about 900 miles or so and thought I was just hearing things. I then continued to hear it but only after the car was driven a little and warmed up.
Tonight while driving home, I was trying to pay attention to it. I can only hear it when my windows are closed and my radio is off. The car now does the sound consistently between the speeds of 2-12 MPH. It does it the most consistent and loudest at about 4-7 MPH (pretty much while approaching a light or stop sign). Guess it's time to call Honda service as much as I don't want to. If anyone has any answers to this it would be greatly appreciated. |

I'm already telling you what the problem is. Like I said its the rear strut.. take it in to honda and have it done under warranty. I know it sounds like rubbing .. I almost thought my axel was ****** somehow.. but seriously its just the strut |

Car was at the dealer yesterday and they told me that the suspension needs to be broken in for 2,400 miles and I currently have 1,400 miles on the car. I don't know if I believe this or not.
They told me to bring the car in again when I'm due for an oil change at around 5,000 miles if I still hear the noise. |

I had my rear shock replaced at one month of ownership (300 miles) for the same reason. I had to find it for the dealer (you know, the "we can't hear it" game...). I opened the trunk with the car off and put a little weight on the rear passenger side - wallllllaaaa! Click click click - pissing me off click click.....
They replaced the shock under warranty. That was 2500 miles ago - not a peep since. Looks like Honda got a bad batch of these. My car is a 2008 EX Coupe (atomic blue - the fastest color).
