what do you mean "going higher", are you trying to say that it engages higher than before?

Perhaps a slightly better explaination?

Are you saying that your clutch engages further out in the pedal travel? Did you learn how to drive manual transmission in this car? Are you hard on the clutch?

When a clutch is new it may seem to engage almost the instant you lift your foot off the floor because the friction disk surface is new and not broken in. Once the clutch breaks in the engagement point may seem to change slightly but it is just because it slips a little easier.

Once a clutch is highly worn it could seem to engage even further out because it would slip longer.

However, for the majority of a clutch's life it should not really change. Edit: added "not" to that sentence.

You may have just noticed the change from break in. In that case you should be fine.

If the issue gets worse, or if the clutch starts slipping even after the pedal is fully out then your clutch is getting badly worn. If this is happening after only 9,000 miles you either have a bad clutch or you are doing something to burn it up.

A hydraulic clutch is self-adjusting, so there isn't any adjustment you should have to make (it automatically compensates for wear). The only setting is the free play adjustment and this shouldn't need to be changed. I wouldn't mess with this setting unless you know what the setting is supposed to be because if you get it wrong you can cause increased clutch wear, hard shifting, or even transmission damage (worst case).

Do you rest your foot on the clutch petal or dead petal?
