Exclamation People w/3rd gear issue please respond

So I just picked up a new 07 SI coupe a couple weeks ago and love it. Haven't driven it hard yet and i haven't had a gear pop out *knocks on wood* and as far as the notchyness I don't think I have felt this.

Anyway Im growing increasingly paranoid about this issue and I dont encounter it.

What I wanted to know from members here is if this problem happens when you are driving "hard", 6k+ rpms and/or during normal driving conditions?

after the first time it happens, trust me, it'll happen again, and again, and again.

then for some wierd reason it'll stop.

at that point i suggest changing your mtf

I guess all these threads and post aren't helping my concerns. I have grinded 3rd in other cars but its usually my fault, happens to my roomate too we laugh about it. Just scary to think that the gear can pop out or grind w/o human error.

change your MTF fluid asap. i don't have 3rd gear problem yet. unless i get lazy but regular i haven't had it yet. although I've experience 2nd gear grind at 8300k shift.

If you don't have it, enjoy the car until and if the problem arises.

Until then, don't worry about it. :).

i'm thinking about the mtf change but "don't fix it if it ain't broke" so I think i'll just wait to see if the problem comes up.

i only ever EVER had it happen while driving slowly like shifting at 2500-3500... it never poped out anything over 6000... but it did popout alot when i shifted at 4500.

It's going to happen thats a fact, just make sure it gets bad before you bother going to honda to complain. its a wasste of time otherwise...

Mine only started doing it a year in owning the car and withing 6 month it was badd!!!, so bad that it would popout and grind on a almost daily basis without fail, every time it popped out i would flip out and SLAM the dam gear in. one day it did it three times in two hours(2-3am) so i took it into honda that morning and got it to pop out three times with the service manager in the car.

they "fixed" the 3rd gear issue and caused three more, everything always comes in threes...

Writing this i realized that Special Ringpop is right, i want a new car. DIFFRENT CAR!!!

I've always had minor issues with 3rd. It sometimes doesn't want to go in (seems to happen more when the car is cold)...If I shift it just right I have no issues...
