I bough my 06 FG2 4 days later (in Dallas) with 44,000 miles, brought my car to the dealership two Fridays ago (they also replaced the clutch, my expense though...), and am picking it up tonight. my local dealership didn't even hesitate, and I don't even think that they knew my wife just bought an 09 Pilot from the last month. What's really screwy is that my 3rd gear sysmptoms were really not that bad, while when I talked to my brother, he said that his would pop out of gear constantly... He was really pissed nonetheless. The service manager did tell him, that he has until the end of his powertrain warranty coverage to bring it back when the symptoms "exacerbate"...
i took it to goodson honda west off of i-10 and beltway 8. speak to bill walker. me and a guy from houston on this forum brought our cars in on the same day at the same time and they took care of the both of us. bill is a pretty cool guy, replaced my clutch as a "goodwill" and didn't charge me a dime.

Now that I think about it, I don't think my bro took it to Goodson, will have to ask him again... I just picked up my car tonight, the tranny is soooo much smoother... They also called me and told me that my clutch was worn down, offered to replace it for $620 including labor and taxes, told them to go ahead and do it. BIG difference! I usually like to do my own clutch job, but don't have the time anymore... Wish that they would have changed the clutch for free like yours, but really I can't complaint... you lucked out, the parts alone were $405, per my itemized invoice anyways... Thanks for the info, enjoy your ride!

hahah thanks. well, from what i've heard, the clutch job on our car is a beotchhh. they didn't charge you that much b/c they already had the case open so that's pretty cheap.

why don't you just take it in to the dealer... the tsb has been release for some time now. there's no point to this petition anymore, it's purpose has been served.

I took my car to Honda the same day the TSB came out. My 3rd gear has been smooth ever since.

You guys do no need to sign this petition anymore. The purpose of it has been served. If you guys are unaware of the TSB (Technical Service Bulletin), please view the thread below. Honda has already taken care of all cars with this issue. Bring it into the dealer and describe your problem and they'll further assist you. I realize you two above are new users so I can see why you don't know. View the first page, first post and scroll down and look at the attachments.

Just a simple question...Is this problem considered a recall or does it have to be fixed under the car's warranty?

it's not a recall, it's a technical service bulletin. if you've ran out of power train warranty (60k miles) they may still consider to fix it under goodwill.

Unfortunately, the problem has not been resolved. I understand there is a TSB out for the problem but my dealership of choice is giving me the runaround attempting to waste time for me to run out of powertrain warranty. I am currently at 44k miles and began complaining at 12k miles. This issue needs to be handed in for consideration of a recall status.
