I Warned The Service Department About This Problem And The Guy Said "all You 08 Accord Owners And Si Owners Come In Here Complaining About Your Third Gear And Its Because You Guys "race" Your Cars.!!wtf!!!wouldnt That Give Him A Clue That Something Is Wrong With The Civic Si?!now They Want Me To Pay 1200 To Get It Fixed. I have filed a complaint with the California new motor vehicle board, have filed a complaint with the NHTSA,have complained to the service dept,GM,HONDA AMERICA,I am about to file a complaint to the BBB, and I am contacting a lawyer. Although a lawyer said if I pay for the repairs, then I am admitting I must have messed up the clutch. I am hoping that Honda comes out with a recall as I strongly believe this is a safety issue and it is very frustrating.I feel like calling the MEDIA to record me as I am leaving the dealership with my car on a tow truck because Honda is refusing to pay for the reapairs, even though I was in there several times with the car and they were never able to duplicate the problem.

You should try using the rebuttal my wife used when the dealer attempted to blame it on us. I don’t only drive in 3rd why is it only 3rd is having a problem. If you were racing your car as the dealer claims, you would certainly shift it in and out of all the gears aggressively, so why is only 3rd having a problem. Of course all us SI owners know the answer to that, there's something wrong with 3rd! We've had our car back a full week now and 3rd is still smooth with no issues.

what is rebuttal? I am probably going to have to go through arbitration because they refused today to pay for the costs. I am in contact with the California New motor vehicle board and she is now referring me to the BBB AUTOLINE

Tranny Problems........

Does this transmission problem effect the 08' Si's as well?

I was considering trading my 06 EX for an 08 Si but if it's going to be a problem....

YAH YAH!!!, take that honda...
well when you just finish dropping around $20+k you would expect 2 have a properly working gearbox instead you go to your dealer and flat out are lied to about the issue. Honda just has to fix it in the quickness.:wai ting:
