i already signed. You should reword the petition though because its pretty much one persons story and not really related to what other people are going through. You should mention about what exactly the problems are and give them a proposal on how it can be fixed.

It's also not very well written.

I will when/if I get the problem. As of yet my car shifts like a dream (5k miles). If I start to get issues I will be right on to sign. However, I will not sign a petition just for the sake of signing it. That defeats the purpose.

I wish you had let me write it. I've done many business letters and legal pleadings, I can literally kick someone in the balls with my words.

just make a new petition and we'll pass it around... or can you make an actual legal document of some sort?

Your gonna need a lot more than an online petition but a hard factual legally backed one.
I'm afraid this petition won't do much, it is poorly written and needs to be more factual and formal if we want it to be taken seriously. On top of that the creators email is no longer valid. I tried contacting him, but no luck.

I signed it this morning also. And I completely agree that it is worded poorly and needs to be more formal.

I think VIN numbers should be included and possibly some other info.

If we actually want an online petition to mean anything and be taken seriously we might want to consider starting a new one and spreading it on all the forums.

I think if people are gonna try and contact Honda, news stations, tv shows, or form petitions first and for most we need to present something that is well written and factual.

Thats why a more organized well written petition, with more information should be developed IMO and that should be presented as our biggest and best form of evidence, and then all the threads that have been created along with case numbers that we have/should develop can be used as supporting eveidence to a well written statement and petition.

I think that's a great idea. Who wants to start a new petition that we could possbily spread? One that requires the VIN#s, model, year, etc. Thats awesome. +1

I am more than willing to start preparing a more formal petition, but we have to be a little patient.

I don't want people to start jumping the gun and going and throwing together a petition together in like 10 mins and wasting there time like this other guy did with his.

Things we need to do:

1. Research Online Petition Websites
2. Write a formal petition statement
3. Get it out to as many people/forums as possible

Here are my thoughts....

1.
I think we need a well written letter supported with facts, and if at all possible proofread or written by or with the assistance of an attorney.

2.
I think an online petition could help support our argument, but we can't solely rely on it. I think the online petition that links have been posted to here on 8th and a thread has been created about, is weak. And if we are going to do one, it would be best if we started another one.

The creator of that petition's email is no longer valid, which is just another problem with it.

3.
I think we need to decide if these transmission problems that 8th generation Civics, RSX's, and EP3's all have reported are similar and if so then decide if we want to include them in our argument or petition.

Aside from that also do some research on what Honda has told them or done for them, seeing as how they have owned there cars since probably 2001 or 2002.

CLIFF NOTES

My idea would be to present a formal well written statement to Honda, with a formal petition with the names of the owners, model, and model year of car, and VIN number, and then a brief description of their problems. On top of that any case numbers developed with Honda dealerships. All of this along with URL's/links to threads with related discussions, lists, or experiences with these problems could be helpful supporting evidence also.

Let me know what you guys think of my ideas or any suggestions or input you may have.

I don't want to go creating another thread until more progress is made, and or a petition or letter is written.

WE NEED TO DEVELOP A STRONG PLAN OF ATTACK!
