Hello, I'm new here.

I just put down a 500 dollar deposit last week for an 2008 Rallye Red Civic Si Coupe. Recently I found about this 3rd Gear issue, and I'm very interested in knowing if it has been fixed on brand new cars. I've seen people with 08's complaining, and as I said before, I went last week to the dealer but they didn't have any Red Si Coupes, so I've been waiting. I just don't want to spend 23,500 and see that after a 1000 miles it fails. That's not Honda at all. I love the brand, the car and the fact that the 2.0 liter has V-TEC which makes it incredibly unique and fun. This will be my first new car so, I hope I don't make a mistake.

Thanks for reading me out, and sorry if I sound noobish, but I AM a car enthusiast, it's just I've recently got into Hondas.

ask for your VIN number and see if it falls into this range.

2008 Civic Si 2-Door:
From VIN 2HGFG215.8H700001
thru 2HGFG215.8H701973

Thanks a lot for the info man.

I have a weird update :S, I just called the dude that I ordered the car from and he said it is going to take around 3 weeks for them to receive my car. HE didn't explain why. Maybe Honda IS fixing the issue.

By the way, I'm from Houston, TX and you're from Cypress which isn't really that far xD.

Again thanks.

I've had no problem with third gear on this car. I have missed third gear on occasion if my timing is off but based on my experience with this transmission I find it quite acceptable if not better than many transmissions/shifters I have driven over my 40 years of driving performance automobiles.
