i dont have my new 08 si yet, but i will sign, cause my friend has had serious issues with third, and hes takin his car in to the dealer soon before the 06 goes off warranty to get them to do something. i wonder, is this as big a problem with the 08 or has honda fixed it recently? i saw on the news that honda finally admitted the problem and that there will be a sort of partial or total (?) recall, but i dont even want my order if the trannys gonna be **** and i cant get the dealer to do anything about it once i fork over my 22400.
should i cancel the order or should i have faith in honda like usual?

also, if anyone cares, 1117. is that a prime number?

honda has already acknowledged the problem and you get warrantied repairs if the problem can be replicated, and many places will do it even if they cant replicate the issue because it is a known issue.

I just register to this site... i been pulling my hair out about this 3rd gear problem with my car. I have 2006 Civic Si. I took it to the dealership and a tech drove it with me and they noticed it, I have it documented 3 months ago and nothing has been done about it. It's really depressing. Question? Can I put headers and exhaust without voiding warranty for the tranny?

Ok, it's time to kill some of these threads. A technical service bulletin has been produced for this problem. See your local Honda dealership. TSB 08-020.
