engine check up

i have a hard time trusting the dealership. and i think that they try to cheat me when it comes to mechanical issues with the car. my car had a hard time starting a month ago. and they told me that everything was fine. but a week after that my car couldnt start cuz the battery died. and they were like okay we will replace it. but how is it possible to find out if they really checked up ur engine or not?

you watch them, know someone who work in the dealer, other then that NOPE. cause when i went in for the very first tune up. they just change oil and look around for another 2 minutes then gave me the car back. i watched them from a window about 50feets.
