brake question

ok i have a 06 lx coupe with 13k miles and im getting a grind when i stop so i take it to the dealer and they say my brakes are worn out. so can someone tell me what is normal mileage for a set of oem brakes

depends on how you drive on them. if you beat on them it could be as little as 5k miles

there's no way u dont brake hard and have to replace ur pads at only 13k miles, unless something horribly is wrong w/ ur braking system or u "ride" the brake pedal while driving.

and u might wanna stop driving w/ ur current brake pads if u get a grinding noise.

indeed. Depends on personal driving habits. 13k seems kinds low though. Do you Autox er something?

Is the sound coming from the front or rear? and check the disks for marks. It can tell you somewhat about your brakes without taking the wheels off for inspection.
