Plenty out there. They're universal for the most part.
AMSOIL makes a nice one. Or you can step up to their bypass filtration system. Regular oil filters filter down to 25 microns, bypass filters can filter below 1 micron. Otherwise get a universal kit and slap it on. My advice is to just go ahead and get new braided lines before you install it. The ones from the summit kit have been known to start leaking after a while. |

Where ever you want it to go.
Here's AMSOIL's. It's the BMK-14 for just relocation. oil filter relocation Keep in mind going with a bypass setup (AMSOIL or otherwise) can reduce up to 60% of wear and drastically extend oil change intervals (to save money). |

![]() I've got 2400 miles so no oil change yet. Just thinking ahead. Off topic, went through the Malibu Canyons today with a group of S2ks. The Si had no problem keeping up |

Double filters typically don't impede or increase flow. Bypass filters also don't filter all of the oil through the bypass filter. If it did it would drastically reduce flow. Instead after the full filter a small portion of the oil is filtered through the bypass filter. On the "double filter" setups that aren't bypass I'm not sure how they do it. I would think they'd run them in parallel instead of series, but I suppose we'd have to read the literature to find out. Either way they provide no benefit. |

so would this not be a good idea. i am considering doing this. could you mount it where ever you want? i was thinking if it could come up to the top of the engine bay, but would this effect flow?

they aren't that much. but since people make it out to be a terror i was wondering if it would be worth it.
i don't think a little work on your back is that hard, i am just thinking of the oil spillage up in there, but i have yet to change my oil yet. |

easier to change filter...generally used in conjunction with aftermarket oil cooler...downside is room for error/parts leak/break...it is ideal for a situation where the oil filter is completely unaccessable (i.e. engine swaps) or in enduro racing to allow for quick change at pits...such as the 24 hours of lemans...

You MAY think it is not a good idea but here is the real put down on the product. It is, as stated by the quote, EASIER accessed to the oil filter, a year you probably change your oil 2/+ if you want to really keep your engine in good check, depending on the seasons too. The down side is parts leak / break? I'm sure there is "warranty" on the product, don't expect it to have a life-time warranty, and there is only leakage if you installed it wrong. It's like you buying a product, installed it wrong, and saying the part is no good. And for that quick oil changing thing he said, that's really weird. Because you are only changing the filter relocation, not the oil pan or plug. So, it is still accessible, to change the oil, and the filter is EASIER accessed after installation. If there is a problem with the engine, and the kit is in the way, there are brackets that were made for the kit to be installed on the side of the engine bay. What do you do if it is in the way? How about taking off the bracket? The oil filter is still in the plug, just take it off, put it on some safe spot, and fix the crap. I don't see why people hesitates to buy these kinda products. It'll make your life a lot easier if you change your own oil / filter. my .02 cents, and a quarter. P.S. that's 27 cents BTW |
