transmission problem

ok so about a year ago wen i first got my lx coupe the transmission had a major problem. basically it wouldnt go into second at all it would just grind out. i went to honda and had it fixed. however, they threatened that next time a similar problem would not be fixed under warranty because they brought in a specialist that determined it was from "abuse". i can understand how i could have abused it, i was new at driving stick and was very excited with the car, i did a lot of quick shifting and of course i mishifted many times due to my inexperience. since it was fixed i could probably count my mishifts on one hand in over a year. i admit i do a lot of quick shifting and when winter rolls around of course i do some donuts. beyond that i dont abuse the car. now to the problem. about 3 weeks ago my transmission started making really annoying scratching kind of noises only when i am in gear. even at idle. once i hit the clutch the noise goes away. so i took it to honda and theyh had their techs look at it a few days ago. well theyre calling abuse again and of course they dont want to fix it under warrtanty. i know i havnt abused the car as much as they are saying i have. they are pretty much claiming that i have been drag racing over a long period of time. they are saying my brakes, tires, and of course transmission among a few minor things need work and that none of it is coverd. any advice? i certainly cannot afford all of this out of pocket.

Dude....lol, you already admitted you abuse the car. That should have been a lesson in itself!!! Why did you not be more careful with your car?? As far as advice.....IMHO, there is not much anybody here on this forum can do for you. You are going to have to deal with the dealership yourself again or take it to another dealership to have the problem addressed. If you say that the car would not go into second gear at all when you bought it, then it would have never passed the initial inspection. Cheers.

What are they saying is wrong with it this time?

Also, what do you mean by "misshifting"? Do you mean grinding, or putting it in the wrong gear on an up/downshift?

Also, what exactly are you doing when you are "quick shifting"? And how extensively do you do donuts?

I'm just trying to determine what the chances are that you did infact damage your transmission yourself. It is possible that when they fixed it the first time they screwed something up, or maybe didn't fix the root cause of the problem (only the symptom).

in response to a few of the posts above, i meant to say that right around the time i bought the car it ran into the problem about a year ago. it was about 2 months after i got the car not right wen i bought it, my bad. also i definately did not abuse it anywhere near as much after i got it fixed, i did take that as a sort of lesson. but all is good, i went to the dealer about 4 hours ago with my dad, they are agreeing to fix the transmission under warranty and all i have to pay is the price of a new clutch pad, so as far as tranny goes i didnty get stuck with the full cost. im considering taking off all of my mods at this point to discourage me even more from the little abuse i have been giving it the past year. i wanted a project car that i can drive fast and not be abusing it anyways so the money from my mods will be adding to the fund for that.
