Angry Oil Leak + Header

Well i decided to install my header today... i noticed oil in my garage didn't really think much of it. Once i jacked up my car and crawled under it i realized there was oil all over the under body. For some reason i was not concerned at the time and kept working on replacing the header, once i finally got it and pulled my car away i noticed a significant amount of oil on the ground. I figured i would go get it looked at on Monday.

As i drove to my friends house to see how the header felt on my stock car, i noticed that when i engaged into vtec i didn't really feel the "kick", however I did hear it. It almost felt like i lost power. Once i got there i decided to reset my ecu and try it again. As i took it for another drive i noticed a HUGE puddle of oil..

Stupid me i didn't check my oil till i got home, and it was COMPLETELY empty. SO i ran to the store picked up 4 quarts of oil. And still i could literately watch the oil drip to the ground.

At this point im really concerned about my car. Hopefully i didn't damage the engine while i was testing the header, (Running w/ almost no oil) and the fact that I have a HUGE oil leak!!!

So I want to go to the dealer, but im scared to do it with the RH. I don't want them to point fingers at me, when its a brand new car w/ only 3500 miles on it. How ironic that realized i had a leak when i was installing my first bolt-on.

Question #1 - Why is my Oil Leaking.
Question #2 - Whats the deal with the header.

If you guys didn't notice my Sunday was not that great.

check your oil filter , that would be my first guess , possiblle bad gasket or overtightened .

Ok. Where can you see the oil leaking from? All over from the front to the back of under the car? Please be more specific. Its probably more than just the oil leaking. Check for other types of fluid. Check for colors of the fluid. Check for gaskets and also the oil plug. Also the smells. Raise it up and check before taking it anywhere before anybody starts upselling.

Well if you looking at the car from the front, its coming from the left side. And mainly the front/left side of the underbody is where the oil is coming from. I dont think its the plug, but ill need to check it tmrw.

Its more than likely is coming from the oil pan / oil filter. Did you ever change your oil since buying the car?

What do you think about the header? Is it normal? Do i just need a reflash to really see it? Is my oil problem related to this?

COuld very well be. Im pretty sure the car will not ingage if the oil pressure / oil level is too low. You may have "hit" the oil filter with a wrench or a socket when you were tightening the header down causing the oil filter the leak.

Its got to either be a loose oil filter, or you over tightend one of the header bolts and possibly cracked the block.

if your car dumped all that oil, how come you didnt notice the oil pressure light come on while driving it.

So have you crawled under the car to see if its just a loose oil filter yet?

Yeah but this is a MAJOR oil leak, it is either something simple and minor or severely bad.

Thats crazy. I would drive that car until all the oil was gone, and the motor seezed. then blame honda for a lemon
