Cant Read CEL

I have a cel on my 06 si and i have hooked two obd2 scantools up to it and both of them say link error. Im about to take it into the dealer and listen to them ***** about me having mods on my car and how they will charge me a insane amount of money to fix it. The cel came on after a day of modding the car. I put a aem sri, greddy cat back, and teins on my car and it decided to throw this cel. i have reset my computer at least a dozen times. Anyone have any ideas what could be the problem with it? Thanks for the input

check your o2 sensors, my dealer told me they have been seeing a lof of their civics come back with bad 02 sensors damaged in the factory.

just out of curiosity what obd2 scanners are you using? i had the o2 sensor problem and advance autoparts scantool could read it.

actron pos. its the same bright orange one that adavnced used on my car. i thought it might be the scantool but when they used theres and it said the same thing. i kinda ruled that out. i found a way to do a self diagnosis on the cel so i will post the codes when i get them in the morning.

Not sure if this applies to the Civic or not, but I'm coming to the Civic from a Mazda 3. On the Mazda 3 you couldn't hook up any old OBDII scanner because the Mazda 3 used a new thing called CAN (controller area network) bus. Is the new Civic using CAN also?

A little bit unrelated, but so far i have taken my car back to the dealer twice for cosmetic repairs and each time, they could not get a read with the sensors, guy mentioned link error both times too. Still dunno what that was about.

this is what happened. i stole a pic of someone else sri cause im lazy and didnt want to take pics of mine. so the two clamps that i circled wherent clamped they were zip tied tightly in place. when i got my sri they shorted me those two hose clamps. so i just zip tied them thinking it would be ok. turns out no it wouldnt be. i just didnt think something so small would throw a cel. so finally i went out and bought some clamps and clamped it and all is well.

I love it when people post a question, found a solution to it, but not tell people what the solution was.
