215km/h in 5th - honda tech needed

I started a thread about this a couple of days ago but it got deleted and im not sure why, although i could guess... anyway...

the problem that i had is that a couple of days ago i was testing how smooth the new parts in my tranny shift and work... soooo on the track today on my way home from work i decided to see if it was goiong to do it again...

last time i peged it in 4th and went to redline and put it in 5th that was stiff since the tranny rebuild, and i wanted to see what it was like at WOT, and to my utter shock 5th wasnt revlimited, the rpm went to 8600 rpm and the limiter didnt kick in??? so i backed off, I hit 215 in 5th when before i was only able to go 211-212?

today AT THE TRACK i tried it again, and i hit 216kph in 5th and shifted into 6th and i hit veetakk in no time, i wasnt in veetak though...

BUT the limmiter did kick in at 8700rpm???? this confuses me... i dont have a hondata reflash and all i have is a DC race header/exhaust aem CAI, IMG and thats it(06' 2dr Si #472 so its not speed limmited), but that shouldnt affect the rev-limmiter...

I did have my car relashed by honda for hesitation(did not fix the bucking at low speed)

and i hit 236 in 6th and backed off...(stock tires and all...)

what could cause the exception in 5th and not 1-4th????(6th's redline was not reached so i dont know about it???) can a reflash only affect one gear??? no right, its a rpm band meaning that its all gears not just one??? can someone please let me know? i dont want honda to sat that i downshifted and popped the clutch since its not supposto go that high. is it posable to reprogram a car from a laptop or do you have to sendaway to honda have them do there magic then upload it. is is all of this a paramiter?

AND NO IM NOT MAKING THIS UP!!! I will try to get it on film but at those speeds i dont want to operats a camera, helmet or no helmet...

TO MODS/ADMINS>>> please dont delete this thread, i would like to know... note it says this was on a track and not public roads... street racing is not cool

some people are just like that... "if i didnt see it happen, it didnt happen!"

I just think that there is a reason behind it, and if your going to flame me there is a way of just deleting your post...

im going to try and set up a triod in the back set so people dont have a reason to flame or doubt it... but the last time i tried it the thing would always fall over...

Im just gonna throw my thoughts in here for people to see:

If you feel compelled to say "at the track" with the quotes or at the track or in any other way emphasize that it was at a track and not an open road, I am immediately suspicious of your thread.

You can help yourself by providing the name of the track you were at when you did this to help dispel and suspicion of your actions for me.

im not planing on closing this, but im throwing it out there for future reference

Well no, its only recently that is done that, untill i had it at my dealer for a few issues like the 3rd gear popping out, bucking at low speeds while cold and rpm hang.

now like i mentioned in the 3rd gear threads, they did rebuild my tranny and told me that they had put in updated parts, but i think that was just a stall tacktic on there part for not being able to get the parts in for a week...

they updated my ecu and included either a service number, procedure or a software number on the workorder.

Is it posable for a honda tech to gain acess to the ecu and change the revlimmiter as a paramater?...

Here at work guys always want there rpms/hp/torque/topend governed or opened up. but compairing a volvo truck to a civic is like compairing a volvo to a civic, they are totaly differant.

the thing is that when i went to pick up my car all the techs knew my car?, did they !#$@ with it and not put it back to normal, is that posable?, when i picked up my car is had 200km more on it.

so i think that they messed with its settings took it on joy rides and didnt restore it back to factory... IF thats even posable?, is so then im driving it and not saying a word.... But untill the reflash is didnt go up that high, or that fast...

ethlar, the name of the track escapes my mind, thanks for not closing the thread. but i will keep that in mind for next time.

Street racing is the same as excessive speed on your own, and neither will be tolerated on 8thcivic.

after reading through your old thread, the situations are too similar to ignore. and you cant just show up to tracks on your way home from work and be able to run without tech-ing and prepping your car before hand.

thread closed, please dont create a new one
