I have already brought my worn pad in my EX to my dealer's attention- I was told its "normal wear and tear"- I looked up the part and its around $30 by itself....

I anticipated this on my Si, and I periodically use a suade brushing kit on the contact areas.

It is basically just a gum eraser and a brush, but it works well to get the nap to stand up. Eventually, I'm sure it will completely wear down, but the brush makes it feel really soft for now. I have 8500 on my odo.

You might just try using a stiff, flat hair brush to see if you can revive it.

Is there more padding on the coupe door armrests versus the sedan door armrests? My buddy's coupe is really padded and my sedan has barely any at all.

As for the wear, mine is doing well. But, its cheap to replace, so I'm not worried about it. Rather have it the way it is than have other cars that are not padded and just hard plastic molded with the door.

I'm the same size too 6'2" 210 lbs (not huge - lol). My arm rest on the door is showing signs that my elbow rests there from time-to-time. At 15,000 miles I'm not bothered by it yet.

This is kind of a 'large' request, but to get a feel of how serious this actually is, has anyone taken any pics of it?

Someone who is having this trouble... could you?

I'm just curious if this is a HUGE deal or just an annoyance...

Thanks!

wow dude, that drives side is WEAK...

I'd be in Honda bitching up a STORM.

Have you tried any of the restore kits or anything? I guess if/when I get an Si I just wont touch those. Sucks to be my girlfriend cause it's one more thing she wont be allowed to touch in my car

I think it's the same material.

I'll tell ya this, though. When I brushed that out, powder went everywhere. Dust, skin cells.... who knows? I think part of the "worn" look of it is where the nap gets laid down and covered in ... who knows what.

But I look at the arm rest pictures above that and it looks like the material is just plain gone.

I figure anything is worth a try if it costs... nuthin!

yeah, it does look gone above... but if honda didn't do anything about it, I'd probably just replace it for $30
