Really? I would've never guessed that with all the posts about 2nd and 3rd gear on here.

I'm still not convinced it has NOTHING to do with driving style... sure everyone says they can drive manual and do it well, and I believe them, but I still think there may be something more to the story... but i am a conspiracy theorist part time...

of course, there may be those who just suck at driving manual and think they're the greatest drivers in the world. or those people that drive like their civic can blow the doors off of z06 or gtos etc. and lastly, those who modify the piss outta their cars which was not really meant for it. you name it. but as far as honda, i believe they did fix their problems.

^ Bull.

Yes, those people exist, but I, for example, have not done any modifications to the car, I drive like a grandmother, and I don't race. At all.

I still have the third gear issue like crazy. I've driven stick my entire life and on many, many different cars.

There may be a way the operator can MINIMIZE or "relearn" to potentially avoid the third gear issue, however it most definitely is a fundamental flaw with the transmission. I cannot believe there are people that still don't think it exists. 2002-2008...RSX-S and Si's.

^i didnt say problems didn't exist. i didnt say there were not any gear issues. all i said was how honda fixed some of the issues of the trannies in terms of the whole tranny itself. i had an 02 vic and the tranny started slipping at 70k, which to me is unheard of (i would have gotten more out of a ford). im not doubting that gear issues exist, as im sure they do seeing how i read about third gear this, second gear that. luckily, im not one of the ones that suffer from this issue.

btw, at what mileage on ur car did u experience these gear problems? im just curious.

I'd hate to say this because I may see you at the meet, but, you are a cry baby man. You post on and on about all of the problems that you have with this car. If you don't like it or are so dissatisfied, trade it in.

Think what you want, I'm not attempting to please anyone on this forum. If you have a problem with me, that's your prerogative.

If you bothered to read any of my other posts before making such vast generalization, you'd have realized that, as I have said many times before, I am not in a financial situation to trade the car in and get something else at the moment without drowning myself in red, which I won't do. If I was able to, I would, trust me, but I'm not going to put any more financial burdens on myself. Until then, I drive, detail, and love the car, and deal with the [often] problems that come up, as they come up. I don't really have a problem mentioning how I feel about the problems (or positives) about the car on the forum.

I bought the Civic expecting quality, which is something I've failed to see within my car. I'm glad so many of you are happy with the car: that's fantastic. I am a little harder to please, and I didn't expect I would be at the dealership getting rattles, peeling, wearing, and third gear taken care of several times a month if I bought a Honda, something I do regularly anymore.

Again, I have no reservations seeing any of you at a meet, because I probably won't know who any of you are unless you say what your screen name is, and at the root of it, we all love cars, so even if there are personal issues, they need to be put aside. Drama for the lose.

I just expected a little more from a Honda, that's all. Nothing more, nothing less.

If that makes me a crybaby, I better go buy some Huggies. Do they still make the kind that the pictuer disappears when it gets wet? I can never tell when I have accidents :).

Go ahead and laugh because I mention the negatives with the positives of this car.

It's just too bad that moderate natures are almost impossible to find in the automotive world anymore, it seems.

Perhaps I come across more negative than positive. That is a fault of mine. I'm critical of most things. I do love my Civic, and anyone who even takes a look at my car instantaneously knows that. I wouldn't wash it a few times weekly and vacuum just as often if I didn't care about it :).

The fact that you compared me with him nullifies your opinion entirely. We are nothing alike. Everything I say can be backed up one way or another, whether by personal experience, official documents, or otherwise. When I am negative, it is for a justifiable reason, and a key difference is that I do not assume to claim that ALL Civics are bad. I am well aware that my car may be one of the bad apples. Another said party that I was compared to is not.

And another thing, which I mean absolutely no offense by. But with only a few hundred posts, I think it's a little early to be determining who is or isn't a "cry baby" on this forum. In that amount of time, I can't imagine how you could get to know anyone that well without relying on generalizations others typically make. Just my .02. Don't pass judgment so quickly.

I didn't really notice it heavily until around 7-10,000 miles or so, from what I remember.

The notchiness of 3rd was always kind of there, but it never grinded or popped out until there were a several thousand miles or so on it.

um, Over a year on here is enough time to get an idea what your like.

I am interested in getting a 8th gen civic and here for info so I appreciate guys like yourself giving your honest opinions, it just seems like you complain about the same problem over and over and over and over again, it gets kinda old.
