there is a little pipe that goes between somewhere and below the cat
what is the purpose of this pipe, where is is going?

Sorry can't help you out I have no idea what that is. You must not have an Si bcause I've never seen that on my car.

If im guessing correctly that is the EGR valve.
Exhaust Gas Recirculation for emissions and to get better mileage.

ahhh, actuly you get worse milage but disconecting it is a $6000 fine..., and i mean like 3-5MPG worse...

It recurculates your Exhause gas, HOT Gas back into your intake... how is that good????, the reason for this is to reburn the unburned fuel and particulats...

plus it also makes the r18 a sulev or whatever it is.
