Premium gas in R18??
Anybody else notice that the base model civics have a 10.5:1 compression??
thats pretty high, its actually higher then any B16 made and just .1 lower then the type R i believe. s2000 is 11:1. Honda says that they use a oil sprayer on the cylinder walls to reduce heat and therefore a lower octane gas can be used, but i can hear pinging everynow and then at low speeds. So does anyone notice a difference with premium gas? The Honda manual states" the engine is designed to run on regluar octane pump gas OR HIGHER. |

Please search, this has been covered many times before.
We even have a sticky thread on the subject. Also, please don't create two threads with the same question. What grade of gas? All gas questions answered! **Merged all gas threads**
