Honda admits 3rd gear problem and implements fix

There IS a fix coming for 3rd gear and I confirmed it today. I finally convinced my dealer to tear into my car and fix my 3rd gear as it has been really bad and with the help of a Honda rep that happened to be there that day, they agreed. They ordered new synchros, "sun gear" and several other parts. They tore it apart and found that I had the updated sleeve in my '07 that was added after the '06 model year that was supposed to fix this in the early models.

When the service manager talked to the tech line he said they were aware of the problem, aware that the original fix did not fix the problem and will be releasing a more aggressive fix to the field in the next couple of months that involve synchros, miscellaneous parts and from what I was told "gears". I don't have full info as I don't pick my car back up until tomorrow but will get everything I can and post it when I get home tomorrow.

I look forward to seeing this fix hit the field and see if it solves this once and for all.

If this is true, I can't wait to slam a big effing "I told you so, you asshats" at every single one of the Twin Cities dealers who have told me they've never heard of this problem, and that they think it's my driving skills.

Tools.

Even a "reputable" source documents what we have been talking about for a long time. And just now Honda will "possibly" offer a fix?!?

Don't let Honda fix anything ... They replaced my syncro's only to make 3rd and 4th gear pop out. 2nd Gear still grinds and sometimes have trouble putting my car into reverse....

In for more info. I took my car to the stealership a few weeks into the car to get the third gear fix. I think all they did was change the tranny fluid to the new forumla. I am starting to see relapses, especially on a cold night.
