Trunk latch won't work.
Hm.
Well, I had my amp installed on Saturday through Best Buy. They ran the wires down the door panels on the side. Install looks great and I trust their work, but today when I locked my trunk with the key on the inside, it won't work even in the unlock position. I've never used the lock function on my trunk latch before and I have no idea why I was inclined to try it out today, so I'm not sure if it could be a factory defect, or if had anything to do with the install. Are there any wires or anything that could get in the way of the trunk latch working properly after locking and unlocking from the install? Thanks guys. |

I have the same problem, I did an install and ran 4 awg power and remote on the same side as the trunk release. The trunk opens with the key and remote on the key, but it just will not work with the gas/trunk lever. Let me know if you find out anything. I am going to take a look at it this weekend.

TRUNK JAMMED WONT OPEN need HELP BAD
You may have to remove one of your rear cushions and crawl to the back of the trunk. Your latch probably isn't functional. |

LX Sedan, no keyless entry. Planning to take it to Best Buy today after my calc exam and seeing what they say. I can still open the trunk with the key in the rear, so I don't really need to crawl anywhere.
I think it has to do with the lock on the floor under the drivers seat. Because when I pull up, I get resistance. I figure you get resistance when you lock it too, so the ability to unlock has been impeded. Shucks. |

Update:
I brought it back to Best Buy and the guy used to work at Honda. He diagnosed the problem and sent me to meet up with one of his friends who is still a tech. He immediately called Best Buy Mobile and said "Hey you guys ****** up his car man." Apparently, upon pulling up the panel on the driver's side, if pulled wrong, it can push up a white clipping mechanism for the key. I have my 4 gauge wire in the way (should have routed it through the center console, but oh well). It's fixed, but I have to hold the key a certain way and push down slightly to get it to work. Heh, I don't need to lock my trunk anyhow. |
