Hopefully New part to fix third gear grinding soon

Took my civic si in for the new recall and also mentioned the 3rd gear grinding. The dealer called honda techs and they said they are developing a new part, but are not sure when it will be available. They suggested switching out the fluids until the part is avaiable.

Since you are a tech, do you know if the problem has been addressed at all for the 2008 Si's?

This dealer wouldnt lie. We are close family friends with the service manager. They said the spoke to honda engineers and the new part would be avaibable sometime in the future.

The new MTF is a temporary placebo, at best. It is not a "fix" despite what some hardcore Hondaphiles think.

I can't imagine that there is ever going to be any fix to our 3rd gear, because Honda/Acura got away with it all the way back to when the Type S RSX came out, and as long as they claim ignorence, I doubt we have an chance of getting a fix.

However, I imagine the Si sells more than the RSX-S did, so maybe they are going to have to address it.

I'm not holding my breath, though. Even if said part does come out, I have a feeling I'll be pulling teeth with my dealer to acknowledge my third gear issue in order to get it.
