No HONOR THE RECALL

called honda today about the recall, told them i had aftermarket suspension and they WILL NOT HONOR the recall WTF! this is hopkins honda in minnesota. If all else fails I have to throw on my stock suspension, good thing i still have them. What about the rest of you?

Are you talking about the TSB on the suspension or the recall on the O-ring/ABS sensor? It makes since that they would deny warranty claims on the suspension since you modified it. Thats the way it goes. Once you make a cut into ANY of you wireing, your warranty on that is gone too!

thats bullshit. i put eibachs on my car and the only thing my dealer said is that it might not get on the lift. tell them to shove it. the bearing has nothing to do with springs. just go up there. doubt any of the mechanic people would give a shit if you had springs or not.

I've had very little good service from Hopkins Honda. Jeff Jacobson needs to be taking into the hills for the vultures to prey on.

I wouldn't even mention the fact that you have different suspension on the car.

But, given that I doubt this has absolutely any factor on the rear bearing or O-Ring sensor, let them know that when the wheel falls off, you'll know exactly where to send your blood-thirsty lawyers.

They HAVE to at least inspect your rear bearing: its a recall.

Call them back and demand it. Don't back down on this one. It doesn't matter what's done to your car, this is an admitted defect in honda's quality. This has nothing to do with anything you've done to your car.

God yes. If I had to go back to the dealer I bought my car from, it'd be in lower Michigan near Ohio, not Minneapolis.

Yeah...I drove hours to get my Fiji Blue Pearl.

Go to Richfield Bloomington Honda or Burnsville (Walser) Honda. They've been very good to me.

If you need a service manager to work with at Walser, ask for Lisa, she's been great. Also, if you have any rattles or other quality issues, let her know: apparently I'm the only customer in the world that goes there that thinks the Civic has a little less than stellar quality.

Your dealership is actually right. They can inspect the speed sensor O-ring,but if its damage then you will have to pay for any repair, the reason is this(pay close attention to step 9 on the directions of removal and installation of rear springs from the Honda manual)

in order to remove the rear springs you have to remove the ABS speed sensor from damper. Therefore they have every right not to honor any warranty work on the rear wheel bearing.

^ Good find, bud.

Kinda crappy, but I suppose I see why they would argue that way.

Still, I hear only about 5% of the cars in the VIN affected by this recall will be affected. Buerkle Honda in White Bear Lake, MN said they've only had one bad one so far. Walser said they've had several.

Ask for Lisa Carlson as your service advisor: she has been incredibly patient and willing to help me, even when some of my complaints were trivial, at best. She's a jewel to that dealership.Tell her Mike with the Fiji Blue Si coupe sent you lol.

recall has NOTHING to do with warranty what-so-ever. it said it on my paper i got in the mail. it said, "this task is to be done free of charge" i have every aspect of my car modded(minus paint), and they did that shit w/o thinking twice.

Just call honda and have them run your vin number to see if it is affected by the recall...The dealer told me to bring it in...which requires time, so I thought I would just call Honda instead...That saved me at least 2 hours by just making a quick phone call...luckily, my vin does not have any recalls on it currently. I have to take mine in too. I'll be going to RB honda as they have been pretty good (where I baught my car). I can actually hear one of the bearings going bad so I'm sure they will have to replace it.
