Question 2008 Model Si front bumper screws!

So I bought new headlight bulbs.. ok easy enough... went to put the in. Driver's side very easy to install. I get to the passenger side and it just get's FUBAR. Read the manual and it says to move your wheel all the way to the left. Did that, and now it says remove the front bumper pins. I can't get these things off to save my life!!! Phillips head doesn't want to work and now I hear about a "Special" tool just to get the pins off. Any tips on getting the pins off?

Thanks! Got them off, however still can't change the **** headlight. To much of a hassle just to change the bulb. Gonna take it to the dealer in the morning

for driver's side simply remove the coolant resevoir and do it from the top. passenger side, turn steering wheel all the way left, pop the one clip holding the inner fender to the fender with a flathead screwdriver, pull the inner fender out toward you, and stick your hand through the gap to change the bulb.

Yeah, I did my outer bulbs thru the fender wells and that was not easy but doable, and was looking into doing the inner bulbs, and stopped in my tracks. Even after removing the reservoir on the RHS, my hands/arm/wrist is way too big to fit in there. And to expect to hold the bulb, not touch it, and get it in that little hole was just to much. These cars were most certainly assembled by slender robots, or petite "oragamy" women.

My sentiments EXACTLY. After changing out the outer bulbs (twice-touched one the first time and it failed prematurely), I also "stopped in my tracks" for the inners. That was 15K miles ago, and the inners are still stock. I vote for the slender robots personally. Best way to work on this car is to pay someone else to do it. My experience is I will get frustrated or break some of those plastic clips, etc. Last Civic I enjoyed working on was my '94 EX. Now I will gladly work my day desk job on Sat. and pay the money I make to someone who (enjoys) doing this (for a living).

Cheap if you ask me. For a larger guy with big hands and wrists, I get easily frustrated working on 10 lb sacks of potatoes in 5 lb containers, and these new Civics are just too shoe-horned in the engine bay. Hell, they even put half the motor under the dash just to get it to fit in there.
