emission light

i have to ask you guys one more thing, does your emission light go on when you put the ignition to start(II) but not start the car. when i put the key in that position, the light goes on and flashes then shuts off. just got the car.... any ideas about that.. thanks for helping

you mean the check engine light? it's normal.
