Something that *might* help you with your tranny problems (and a few questions also)

For a while I had been experiencing some pretty bad 2nd gear grinds and occasionally I had problem shifting into 3rd (and rarely reverse). The dealership didn't acknowledge any problems for he most part, but he took a look at the tranny fluids anyway. According to him, it was over-filled at the factory. I have no idea how this impacts the tranny in a negative way, but I suppose it does, because I have yet to grind 2nd gear since, my 3rd gear has improved significantly, and I've yet to have a problem getting into reverse yet. This was changed about 2 week ago. Might wanna get this checked out if you were having the same problems as me.

Now a few of my own questions..

I posted a while back I was having an annoying buzzing sound coming out of my speakers. Finally I got my dealership to 'fix' it by replacing the amp, which is what many people on here said it might be as well. Well.. they replaced it, and it still makes the buzzing sound. I called them up and they said they really have no idea what it is then, and that I'll have to wait until they can figure it out. I was kinda mad.. but it's understandable if they have no idea what it is. I think the stock speakers kind of suck (they rattle sometimes, and certain songs sound wierd in my car versus my boombox). Anyone think just replacing the speakers with high quality ones could rid this problem? My only fear is they will refuse to work on the problem in the future if I do this.

My second question is in regards to windows and window tinting. A few times now my passenger side window has rattled REALLY badly. It was to the point where myself and the passenger (my brother) were worried the window was actually going to fall out somehow. Its only happened 3 times, all three within the same week about a month ago, and hasn't happened since. I desperately want to tint my windows because my car looks incomplete without it (black wheels and a white car..) but I'm afraid if I do this, they'll blame any rattling in the future on the tint. Any suggestions on this? Should I just tell the dealer about this before I tint them so in case it happens, I can point out I made a note of it before the tint?

Thanks all

Does the buzzing noise come from all the speakers? It could be a bad head unit or bad ground/power connection. You could try new speakers, but if the problem is present in all the speakers your new speakers will probably have the same problem. However, since you already have the problem documented with the dealer with the factory speakers they might not give you trouble if you change them.

i get buzzing from the speakers too....

cheap plastics used for the speaker cover...cheap plastic in the interior = vibration.

fix the materials ...or dyno mat it.

No, it only comes from one speaker. In fact, I'm not even sure if it's a speaker. It might be a 'tweeter', that's what my friend said but I'm not really sure what a tweeter is.. It's the tiny speaker (we'll call it a speaker since I donno) that is in the very front of the dash, right where it meets the windshield, in the very left corner.

And it's not vibrations. It doesn't make a touch of noise until the unit is on, even with the volume on '0'. I mean I suppose it COULD be vibrations.. but I donno what's vibrating when you turn it on with no sound.

I tweeter is just a small speaker only capable of producing sounds in the higher frequency range. If it is only that one tweeter I would see if the dealer would try just replacing it. If that doesn't fix it you could have a bad wire going to it, ect.

No offense but I think I pretty much killed the grinding problem...
Everyone with Third Gear Problems...

If your fluid is over filled it will cause hard shifting because instead of just being coated with liquid it is soaked in it...
