tell them u'll be going to a dealer who knows how to service their customers and that u'll be giving them a bad review in the next survey go to TO Honda or Keyes Honda in Woodland Hills - no prob whatsoever. I even got things replaced that really didn't need to but they're cool about it. |

Maybe we should break our visors on purpose so we can get new ones! whos in!?! lol my buddy has an 07 CRV and his sunvisors are better than the ones in the Civics. I might have to replace mine with CRV visors. His CRV is more solidly built and it's built in Japan!

Definitely, the SIMI VALLEY HONDA dealership is the worst most greedy dealership ever. I dont know how they ever won the Honda Presidential award. |

I've attached the TSB. If any of your dealers don't know about it, you can bring them in a hard copy. Good luck! Larry. |

Did you guys all get yours replaced during the 3yr/36k warranty? The reason I ask is because I am at 36,160 miles and my freakin visor broke today!!!! I read in another thread that extreme heat does it. Well, it was 100 degrees outside when i got in my car. I pulled the visor down and it just came apart. I tried to push it back together but that didnt work and i got some kind of silicon type substance all over my fingers. All i gotta say is they better fix this for me since its a known issue, even thought i'm (barely) out of warranty.
EDIT: Just saw the TSB. THANK YOU LARRY!!!!!!! EDIT (Again): Just talked to my service advisor. They have the visors instock and will replace mine when I bring the car in to change the weatherstrip on both doors. Last edited by HAQER; 05-23-2008 at 06:14 PM. Reason: More info |

Thanks!
I just went to my dealer and ask them if there's a known problem with the new civics' sun visor. He said no. But he said bring it in anyway and they'll fix it for free under warranty. I dont like the idea of leaving my car at the dealership. Do you think they can just order the parts and just give me the parts so i can do it myself? I seriously doubt it, the reasons for this is because they are flagged warranty time for the work, so they are payed by Honda to fix the problem. |

So at just over 4,000 miles and 5 months on my FA5 my driver side visor gave up the ghost last week. It was getting stiff until I realized the metal "clip" inside the visor wasn't moving and the plastic "clamshell" was! I'm 90 miles from the closest dealership and 110 miles away from the dealer I bought my Si at so I've got to figure out what the heck to do since I live in the sunniest place in the United States! I'm going to need to drive around with a stinkin' welding mask in the morning and evening pretty soon!
The TSB doesn't even list any 2008 FA5s so I wonder if they just haven't had enough people bring them back. The plastic used on them seems similar to the plastic used on the lower portions of our dash and door panels and is VERY soft with almost a Teflon feel to it. Wish I had visors like my '00 Accord. Those bad boys would block a 230 grain .45 ACP FMJ from 5 yards! They were SOLID!!! Maybe I'll jack them from my little brother when I work on his car (my previous Accord) this weekend while he's ![]() Last edited by OrdnanceMarine; 06-11-2008 at 03:55 PM. |
