Well one thing is. That they probably already have enough transmissions made to wing out the rest of this generation civic si. Also, yes it would be, every transmission would have to be opened up and the syncro's replaced and/or shift rails/shift forks be replaced. Honda would rather help pay their customers to get it fixed than have to change what they already have.

..and that is the sole reason why they won't admit there's a problem with our trannies and are giving every customer the long run on the issue. Our cars haven't been the only ones affected by it, other gens have had clutch & gearbox issues as well. Imagine a recall on every single Si out there now just to fix this, it's too late and cost consuming at this point.
