So I got some 3M squeak reduction tape last night...

Picked some up from my local Napa Auto Parts store last night for $16 for 3 yards of it- the sh*t is expensive! The guy said it works great and they deal it out to all the local dealerships.

I just got fed up with taking my Si in to the dealership and never having them be able to reproduce the rattles I tell them about . They have fixed a few already, but there are some minor ones I hear yet.

I plan on using it on a ticking/creaking I hear coming from the driver door, right where the top panel meets the window, near the vinyl on the end of the door. It's annoying as shit, and they can never hear it.

Also, I just noticed a rattle last night coming from the back somewhere. Sounds like it's near the speakers? Anyone know anything about this one?

Oh, and here's the tape :

The rear dash has a TSB, it's from a plug not being properly installed from the factory. I'm just going to pull mine off and make sure that all of the plugs are plugged in.

That TSB states its only for EX models with subs, does not mention the Si's but you never know might be the same thing

I think there is but it was posted a long time ago so you will have to do some digging.

I had mine fixed at the dealer, then the problem cropped up again when I had my windows tinted. They pulled the rear dash and did not re-fasten it correctly, so I will be doing this one myself.

Ah damn man, I don't know what the heck I'm doing, but I suppose I could do a DIY just to make it easier for everyone else.

It would be greatly appreciated... cause I have no idea what I should be looking for or how to do it.

Grimey, check this out, if you scroll mid way down it will show you the clips on the rear dash that I am talking about. 10 clips and 4 plugs.

It's stickied in DIY.

Grimey, mine rattles by the rear too the service lady was mean, nasty and an ugly ass bitch when i went to the dealer to fix the rattles, she said in a angry tone "WE DONT FIX RATTLES ON SATURDAY" i should of said well f*ck you! well what ive done is i just used paper towels and bunched them up under the plastic in the trunk it seems to be working no rattles so far. I Think since that visit i haven't seen her in there i think they fired her i hope! or what you can do is go to an auto place like o,reilly, autozone, car quest, pep boys etc they sale a product in a can called insulator spray you spray it in the rattle area and it stops the rattles suposedly but i think its too risky. I hope this helps man!

^They said the same to me! No rattles or anything like that even with a tsb because it could be difficult to pinpoint.

Anyway, your solution will work but I don't like the idea of having paper towels stuck in my rear deck. I think I am going to find the clip that is not fastening properly and pull it off. Then I'll put some 3M double sided tape in to hold it down. End of rattle hopefully.
