I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with this too. The dealer looked at it 4 times and still couldnt figure it out. I am gonna try the suggestion here this weekend and see if it helps. Let me know if it helps with yours.

Alas... I just tried tightening the seat with a friend and went out for a drive and it was still ticking. When he sat in the front seat the ticking was definitly gone, but when he sat in the back, it came back... so i am guessing its not the seat. Sigh... What do I do now? I dont know how to follow the directions about the bumper and given that with weight in the front makes the sounds goes away the bumper doesnt seem logical.

So now I am thinking strut? shock? wheel? poltergeist?

I left the plastic piece above the grille on top of the painted area instead of inside of it when I cleared my headlights and it was flapping in the wind like crazy.

I didn't find it until I visualized the wind flowing over the car and ran my hand across that darn plastic piece. :)

Just curious - have they checked your rear bearings (Recall)?

My car is at the shop right now for the recall and a knock under the hood now. I will do a full diagnostic on my ride when I get her back. I will let you know. BTW, I retightened my pass. seat in front and that seemed to work so far.

Attention Everyone!

I myself had the same problem with my '07 Si a few months back and had brought my Si back to the dealership where I bought the car.

There was no consistency to the noise and over the month or two that the noise was present it progressively got louder and louder. The noise always sounded like it was coming from the passenger side door, and specifically the speaker area (or closer to the passenger side footwell).

1st visit: My dealership told me they test drove the car and were unable to replicate/hear the noise but that they have had problems with the front right speaker in the dash.

They told me they would order a replacement speaker and contact me when it came in. Meanwhile I didn't think the speaker had anyhting to do with the noise and I let them know that but they said sound travels and although I and others who had been in my car and heard the noise agreed it was coming from the front passenger speaker area they didn't agree with me.

2nd visit: About a week or so later they had received my speaker and i brought the car in and they replaced it free of charge under warranty, they said they test drove the car after replacing the speaker and didn't hear a noise.

I then hopped in my car and pulled out of the parking lot and as i expected I immediately heard the noise again.

3rd visit: I brought the car back and had them keep the car over night to remove the door panel and examine everything including the speaker to make sure everything was tight and to try and figure out what might be causing the noise.

I came back the next day and they were not succsesful in finding anything wrong with the speaker or anything that was loose and once again they were unsuccesful in fixing the problem.

4th visit: Here is when progress was finally made!

My Honda dealership contacted the manufacturing facility/ assembly line in Canada to try and see if they had any reports of a similar problem. They informed them that they were aware of a similar sounding problem. They then arranged to have 2 representatives from honda of Canada who work on the assembly line for our cars to come down for a few days to not only diagnose the problem with my car but a few others they had problems diagnosing.

I dropped my car off and explained the noise in detail to the two representatives. that day they were able to determine the exact cause of the noise in my car. It was the ECU mounting/holding bracket in my cars case which is concealed under the passenger side kick panel. They kept the car overnight again and they overnighted a new bracket and further insulated that area to alleviate any metal on metal contact.

My dealership and the two honda employess assured me that these guys really know what they were doing and were able to diagnose the problems on all 4 cars they had in for them that day.

I left the dealership that day and I haven't heard that smae noise ever since and it has been over a month, now that I think about it maybe two months.

Granite, the interior still does make some noises, but my car is lowered on coilovers now and I have just come to terms with the fact that nothing is perfect, even my brnad new 2007 car.

I hope that helps you guys, I know from experience how frustrating things like this can be with a brand new car.

There you go, I'm glad that helped you out man and I hope the rattle is gone for good!

Maybe this thread should be sticky'd or maybe I should post a thread with everything I know about it?

If a mod see's this feel free to PM me for more info or sticky this thread I'm sure I am not the only one who had this problem.

Where is this kick panel, and where is this bracket. The sound i have seems like it is coming from behind the front passenger seat...like behind the seat belt casing. Any help would be appreciated.

Me too. My 07 Si has been making this ticking sound from the passenger seat when no one was sitting there. I read this thread and I tightened all of the bolts on both seats. The driver'sside were all tight enough, but one of the passenger side bolts required almost half a turn of my socket to fully tighten it. Now, with the bolts tight, no more ticking sound. Oh, the bolt is a 14mm.

How easy was it to pull off the plastic to expose the mounting bracket?
It sounds like I may have to give this a go, as I have the same rattle sound from under passenger side dash.
