Engine break in!

Hi there, i have an 07 civic si sedan and i was wondering when is the engine officially broken in, so i can have some fun. I have pushed it a few times and raced two other cars (pushing the engine to red line). I have 1930 miles on it. The Honda dealership told me that the engine was ready broken in from the factory but i dont know if that is true. i dont want to hurt my engine. Also i didnot push the car till i was at 1000 miles. So am i ok or should i wait a little longger before i have more fun with the civic?

Thanks

Chances are someone already push the car to redline at the dealerships before you got to it.

ohh and yea

waiting a little longer helps....

push the car...but i wouldnt recommend it pushing too much to redline zone..... YET

the engine is still new...although broken in. Push but with a limit.

The car at least needs to run for 150K.

honda says 600 miles, but i would wait til 1000. it takes a while for the metal to absorb that oil.

Are they even allowed to sell you a car with 2 miles on it? I thought they were required to do at least a 5-10 mile PDI on every new car. Strange....

WTF is your problem? you come into my pic thread and say may car is "ugly as hell" without a reason (by your same magical knowledge...."coming into threads that oviously dont concern him"...what did my thread have to do with you?!?!). then you call me out in a EM1 for sale thread becuase i told the OP that it was against the forum rules (BTW it is now deleted becuase of that). and now this? yea...engine break in has been talked about 175837593 times...and this thread should also be closed...i just couldnt readily find a link to post for a mod to lock this one up. so i stand my ground by telling this guy to search. reason being...it is extremely frustrating to come on here every day and see people who just are too lazy to search and repost the same thing. not to mention when some one actually does search and comes accross 473832729 threads having to do with engine break in, it is a PITA to get the correct information.
before you even think about coming back at me..check my posts, read through them....and educate yourself on how many helpful posts i have, how many relevant questions i have asked, how many locked/reposted threads i have created (none), how many times i have provided a helpful link for a mod to lock a reposted thread ,the number of times i have proveded a link for other people trying to find some information. i have provided 10 times more helpful posts that you have total posts....
now that i look back, i even provided you with information about your CF hood question.

/end rant
sorry for the thread jack.

General theory is to vary RPM's and engine load for the first few hundred miles, ie avoid a 200 mile trip on cruise control. Also to easly run the RPM's up to near redline, light load no WOT, a few times.

I practiced the controlled beating method...7K miles later it's never used a drop of oil.

Iv gotten on it before 600 miles, No launches or anything. I brought it to redline a few times, Hit VTEC quite a few times but not where i beat on it long periods of time. Just getting the motor and ECU ready for the way i plan to drive it. 90% Causal 10% Race
