3rd gear grind on the 4dr Si

k.. so seems like there is a wheel bearing recall? taking my car tomorrow morning to get it serviced as well as oil change. this is my 10k oil change, 2nd oil change with royal purple. i asked them about the transmission fluid change to royal purple synchro max and they said it would void the warranty.. i paid for the 100k extended warranty. so not trying to do that.. but i did complain about the 3rd gear grind. i'm going to compain again at the dealership again.. anybody with similar problem? and did the dealer solve the problem for you?

according to all the know it alls.... on 8th civic..

this is a typical gearbox issue...its a known problem that Honda will not address.

gotta live with it.

almost all Honda and Acura MT cars have it 99%.

and its been there for a decade.

Funny, I don't have a grinding issue. Then again........I have a 5-speed tranny.

i have a 4 dr si and i have the 3rd gear grind as well. what does the wheel bearing have to do with a trans issue?

what yr is the recall for and when did it come out? I have an 07 that I picked up 3 or 4 months ago and not sure if they would have taken care of it before it was delivered?

recall came out on 9/13/07. check the sticky "recall wheel bearing" for more info.
