my guess is that you never paid that close attention. not saying that in a negative way. you just never noticed it. its the compressor turning on. a sound clip would help. i would swing by the dealership and let them hear it if your really concerned or you are a 100% this is not a normal sound.

I am pretty sure it's not normal.
I have driven my car over 30000 miles. I know it's a lot. my car is just 06 model. :) I love driving. I mean it makes unusual sounds like tank. :-) and it happens everytime by a day before yesterday. I'll go to Honda Service. but, I just wanna know what's wrong. I went Honda last Saturday around 6 o'clock. and they said it's about just belt and we're going closed, even don't take a look my car. and they said we don't have part now. so please come on Monday. we'll order part for you. so, I said yes. but, now I think It's about A/C comppresor. not a belt. how do you think? |

I think it's not normal. because, as I said, I've driven my car over 30,000 miles. but, It happened by a day before yesterday.
It was Ok last month, last year and when I bought at the first time. but, I'm pretty sure it is not normal condition now. It's not just about sound, It's about some crazy tank noise. ![]() I know it has Vtec. so, It makes some noise. I'm not talking about it. |

? Something like a clanking/grumbling? Or is it more like that squeakity squeak squeakity noise you always hear in movies whenever a tank is driving? |

Can we presume that since honda said they'd order you a part over the weekend, that you've stopped worrying about it and let the experts do their thing on your car? If there was a problem, we should expect you'll see it on the work order. Stop worrying yourself :) go out.... open the windows.. relax... it's all good.

Not sure if this is related, but when I run my Max A/C and the car is idling you can hear a chirping noise. I took it to the dealership, and they replaced the belt tensioner. Got the car back, and it's still making the noise. Have to take the car back again, and get a rental (provided by dealership). I drive a 07 Si Sedan w/ 5K miles, and this was 1 of 7 issues I had when I dropped it off. They also replaced the airbag (due to crack in case), front passenger speaker, driver visor, and could not isolate a rattle noise from the rear passenger side.
