The engine just happened to let go on the way home from school.
Details about anything unusual while driving between the day you bought the car and the trip from school? Anything happened during the 1/8 mile race against the truck? Whatever came of the CEL, the O2 sensor and the too rich code? You have listed an SRI, is that correct? What happened when you drove into the flood? Any recent mods that you haven't listed? The final moments of your engine's life has NOTHING to do with why it died. You'll have to think back at the events that might have contributed. -mr. bill Last edited by mrbill; 09-19-2007 at 07:38 AM. |

A while ago I got my block replaced by honda. I had a warped crank. The crank bolt worked itself loose and spit oil out. Weird. Do you see oil around the pulleys or what?
Make sure honda pays for a rental car for you too.

Not tearing into you on this but do you beat the crap out of your car? Honestly, are you vtec'in it everywhere and launching all the time? Reving the crap out of the enging all the time? Or did you ever make any mistakes like downshifting to 2nd instead of 4th on the highway and over-revving the engine, even 1k miles ago? If you beat the crap out of your car then that's probrably why your engine decided to commit suicide.
With that said engines DO fail even if your not driving them hard, and if their going to fail under an easy life it's usually because of a manufacturers defect, and that usually happens when the car is newer, like in your situation if you haven't kicked your cars ass. Have Honda check it out and let us know how you've driven the car, honestly. If you want to get rid of it then get rid of it, but if it was a defect then don't expect this to happen to the next engine, these kind of failures are pretty damn rare in a car that's not driven hard. good luck |

Its at the dealer. Car insurance is not goin to cover. Dealer is looking into it and checking it out. They told me that my rod bearing went out then it hit my oil pan. Well I might just keep the car because I am trying to buy a house in the future. I hope that it will be under the warrenty. All the parts that i have put on the car such as intake headers and exaust are going to taken out and be sold. No more performance. Just looks and liability for me from now on out.
